vintage motors at the Ben Schroeder Saddletree Factory. This is America's last 19th century wooden saddletree factory, and

Robert Yuill pours new power feed shaft babbitt bearing
on table saw. All machines except one required new babbitt bearings to be poured, scraped and fitted. At the high speeds
in which these machines rotate and to insure accurate and smooth cuts fitting the bearings was paramount.

power feed table saw before restoration. This saw was a heavily used by the Schroeder's, all the lumber used in the shop was cut to the required rough dimensions by
this machine.

Historic Machinery manufactured for the saw a new spindle, new power feed shafting, new sprockets and poured new babbitt
bearings. Condition assessment and documentation of repairs before, during and after the project were furnished to the customer.

before restoration, sitting against the back wall of the shop since mid 1920's when it was last used.

after restoration. This machine was restored to operating condition by Historic Machinery Services. New babbitt bearings
were poured and a new slotting saw was designed and installed. Condition assessment and inventory of the machine and it's
shop added features, along with photo documentation were provided for the customer.

Wood-framed, shop built, custom molder-shaper after
restoration. Historic Machinery Services poured new babbitt bearings, reconditioned the pulleys, replaced numerous pieces
of insect infested and damaged wood with new wood and salvaged other wood components by using wood epoxy repair techniques.
The new parts of the shaper were painted and distressed to match the paint and patina on the rest of the machine.

Shop made horizontal belt sander after restoration. Historic Machinery Services repaired the vintage motor,
bearings, and pulley. The wooden parts of the sander were made completely new, due to the poor condition of the wood. The
wooden components were made of the same wood species, cut to the same thickness and contours as the original and were stained
and distressed to match the originals.
