A bolt from a river boat that sank in the Missouri River in 1820, cleaned of rust by electrolysis.

The gentle cleaning of rust from a  flat washer by the electroysis method has revealed file marks where the flat washer hole was enlarged. This washer was from an iron mine hoist site on Ruffner  Mountain, Birmingham, AL.
